Barbara Rosin - Black Barn Apiary
Black Barn Apiary: Handcrafted Artisanal Honey

Anybody can mix honey and cinnamon. It takes a visionary to create a truly extravagant flavored honey. And it takes somebody like Barbara Rosin to go beyond a special product - to a true celebration of the ecosystem. Located on 20 acres on the southern edge of the Kettle Moraine in Southeast Wisconsin, Black Barn Apiary is restoring native prairie land to attract pollinators like honey bees and native species. Black Barn Apiary launched in 2018, but much of the business was already well-established. Besides an assortment of high-quality products, Barbara cultivated diverse native trees and

Caroline Headshot - LUV SCRUB
LUV SCRUB: The Ultimate Exfoliating Body Tool

Three months after I officially launched my business, my story went viral in Yahoo Beauty in March 2017, and other parts of the world, including Ghana, where the product is mainly used. Since we went viral, LUV SCRUB has been mentioned in the press at least 100 times! We have also been named "The New Loofah" by People Magazine, Allure Best of Beauty 2020, featured on Good Morning America, etc. I could not have done it without the guidance of my SCORE mentor!

SCORE Helps Therapist Unleash Expansion Opportunities for Animal-Assisted Practice

Therapist Annalisa Smithson hadn’t contemplated incorporating animals into her sessions until a 10-pound Maltese hopped into a client’s lap. The office dog at the center where she had been working served as an informal – and completely accidental – icebreaker for a veteran struggling with addiction issues and post-traumatic stress disorder. “We didn’t have enough rapport built that he was ready to open up to me,” Smithson recalled of how the dog followed them into a session and jumped onto his lap. “He looked at her and started petting her with both hands. His whole story just poured out.”

Ann Marks
SCORE Mentors Help Mompreneur Scale Infant Sleep Subscription Business

Expectant parents are often told to enjoy their sleep before the baby arrives. For Ann Marks, sleep deprivation wasn’t part of her recipe for parenthood. “It was born out of a need of my own,” Marks said of her subscription-based and one-on-one consultation business, Full Feedings. “A lot of people want sleep, need sleep … This is possible naturally when you meet your baby’s needs.” The Erie native and Yardley transplant began offering one-on-one consultations in 2019 and launched her online programs in March 2020 with the goal of helping parents “enjoy parenthood more fully.” She has since
